April has turned out to be a pretty dead month for us. I don’t think we have seen twenty new faces since the month got underway. Regardless of that fact. I have been super busy preparing for our May opening inwhich the gallery will also release its second hardcover art book.
I am hopeful that tomorrow evening will breath some new life into my lovely little space when we will be featuring the experimental music duo Monomania as part of the gallery’s *Artlab series. Having met both guys, I am sure a grand night is going to be had by all.
Their performance will occur in two sets – an early one (8 pm – 9 pm) which will be quieter, more kid-friendly and acoustic; the later set (10:30 pm – midnight) will be more electronic, glitchy, introspective.
Monomania play: synthesizers, electronic toys, drum machines, radios, computers, percussion, saxophone, flute, guitar, and other plucked stringed instruments.
U*Space Gallery’s *Artlab series is an artistic laboratory with an audience, designed to serve as a intimate safety net for the development, nurturing, supporting, and presenting of new and original live performance work by artists of all nations and cultures.
